Another Term Bites the dust….

•March 9, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Wow, I survived another term at Westwood Online but why is my tummy still churning? aaawwwww thats right grades aren’t posted yet. Oh well…
We have had beautiful weather here in Oklahoma the past week or so.  I am loving Spring time. I just hope I don’t miss another summer because of school.

Not a lot to report at the moment I guess I got a bit of the writers Block. I need to go downstairs and photograph some shirts for Sumner website and other misc. items to put on craiglist or Ebay. This economy is killing me along with everyone else. Hope you all have a wonderful week and then some :-) Smiles,
Terri

Truly a Monday

Another crisp sunny winter day in Oklahoma. I spent it entirely inside trying to wrap my brain around databases, so far there hasn’t been any sign of the troops coming to bail me out….oh bother. Whatever will I do??

I finally put up the white flag at the end of the day and decided to search the archives for long lost pictures. WOW I have a lot of images stored on my computer. It would probably take me at least a couple of weeks 24/7 to burn them all to cds and archive them, not to say they are ALL worth keeping , but someone may want to see what the world looked like way back when.

Well, I suppose I do not have much to say this eveing or so it seems, it has not been a very productive day other than a little light houskeeping to break up the overwhelming expectations from class.

Tomorrow will be a better day I just know it…now how’s that for positive thinking!! YES!
Heres a picture that always makes me smile.buster-riley-em

Data Base and Design Madness

•January 17, 2009 • Leave a Comment

All I want to know is why any of my other classmate Friends that are ahead of me now, have not taken this crazy Data Base and Design class yet. The least you could have done was taken the class with me so I could look over your cyber shoulder. I have not felt so lost since my Algebra and Advanced scripting class with "Instructor M@t"

It has got to get easier doesn’t it? I mean seeeriously….

Here are my examples for My Student enrollment process of a Data Flow diagram and an Entity Relationship Model assignment. If there is anyone out there that can tell me I have a clue I would appreciate it. This is one of the hardest things about going to College online… no “one on one” time with the instructors. You have to play email tag and when things have to be done within the week well… you know how that goes in email land. Sigh….

I thought I would add a couple links to websites I have designed.
I will add to this list as each one is completed.
Feel free to check them out and let me know what you think!
I am open to any feedback good or bad :-)
Thanks,
Terri

Another Sleepless Night

•January 16, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Yet another sleepless nightly slightly similar to the other I encountered less than a month ago.
It’s 12:30.A.M., I chew up a couple of Aleve, wash them down with filtered water and reluctantly switch off the light only to find myself lying there for the next two and a half hours tossing restlessly. There is little hope of calming my mind. I cannot imagine why for at least the first two hours? Perhaps it was that last cup of condensed coffee I drank that was on again off again, heated throughout the afternoon? Who knows, I could not imagine me being such a caffeine lightweight.
Two hours into my restless journey to visit the sandman, I conceded. I got up, searched quietly in the dark for a pad of paper and a pencil with an eraser. Alas no luck ….I settled on an almost dried out felt pen I recognized by the chewed up end created by my teething lil’ Riley pup.

Oh well, it will have to do for now as I head down the hall to the other room and flip on the light. I scoot over the mass of unfolded laundry on the bed and scratch down a few design ideas. I want to create the title header and sub titles for my “Perfect Web Portfolio”. They say your best ideas come to you in your sleep. (Laughing silently to myself…mine generally hit me in the shower)

Anyway, all was not lost…at least I hope. In my restlessness many things ran through my uncultivated mind of enigmatic thoughts. The creative half of my brain won, no contest. Inward Art.com the domain I have created but yet to begin a real WORKING design. I want this one to be perfect, if not on paper certainly in my mind.

I have to keep rewetting the tip of my half dried out felt pen hoping to keep the ink visible enough to get me through the first phase of title/header design. Thirty minutes later I am half satisfied with a rough sketch. At least having done that, I can once again attempt my horizontal journey into sleepy land.

Finally ZZzzzzzzz.

We will see how this design progresses throughout the year but for now I must get back to my homework. I seem to keep getting sidetracked.

I am hoping if I can keep up with this Blog thing it will keep me focused or at least going in a more positive and productive direction even if I am the only one reading it.
Cheers,
Terri

Cleveland Salvage

Hey I got to go out and take some more images before classes started again. My friend and I went back to the old salvage yard in cleveland where I gathered many more texture images to add to my collection. Awww the contrast and beauty you find in rusty old cars. They have so much character and I can only imagine the stories they would tell if they could.

Looking back on images I took of this place three years ago, I could not help notice how much it had changed. Newer cars were added and overcrowded their once simplistic existance. It was sad but I was happy I captured the images I did a few years ago.
It made me appreciate the posibility.

Classes Start again at Midnight tonight. It has been a really nice break this year not having to go into work over the holidays. And although times are tough in our economy, I believe we are still very fortunate to live in america and have the things that we have.

Hi, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

I also hope you got to enjoy time with family and friends. One of my bestest friends husband brought us a fresh cut Christmas tree again this year. Without a tree to inspire me the spirit would not be the same. Most of my family was elsewhere so I am sad to say although I have enjoyed time off from classes I missed my boys and their family dearly this year.

Christmas evening , my youngest son and his wife, my brother, husband and I went to see “YES MAN” with Jim Carey and Zooey Deschanel. I thought it was Laugh out loud Hilarious, (something I don’t do much of as my friends would say.) We also rented several movies including Hellboy II,  Kung Fu Panda,  Horton Hears a Who, and Get Smart. They were all “okay” and I enjoyed the time to relax.

We went out to Dinner with our friend Donna and her daughter and I also got to go out and shoot some photography with my friend Tom. We didnt’ go far just around to Woodward park but we got some interesting shots, most would not think possible this time of year.

Well Classes start back up this friday and I am quite anxious and  nervous. Although they are Design classes I am afraid they involve extreme technical experience and code knowledge, both I am not quite comfortable with just yet or may not ever be. If anyone has advice good or bad I am open to hear it. I need all the support I can gather.

Well I will be working on photographs the rest of the day trying to complete a few minor goals I have set for myself. Wish me luck.

Have a great day!

Here are a few fun pics

Hello world!

•July 16, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Welcome to my world and thank you for stopping by.

I won’t bore you with the silly details, just a few little tidbits about me. I am a Web Design/Multimedia student in my final year working towards my Bachelors degree. This blog is an assignment for our scripting class, it should be a fun learning experience.

I hope to be able to share information I find and learn some too as I embark upon this well beaten path. Please be patient with me as I sneak quietly upon the diving board.
